Alto Tenor Sax
Presenting Beginner Saxophone Lessons
Do you love jazz and reggae music? Are you interested in learning to play an instrument to fully enjoy these music? Maybe you’re just interested in playing beautiful songs without effort? If you said yes to all of the above, then there’s really nothing more suitable for you than the saxophone.
Saxophone’s beginnings can be traced back to the 19th centuries. Over the years, it has grown in popularity. There’s no reason why it shouldn’t be played, while there are so many reasons why you should. The way saxophones bring a touch of the classical to most songs, make it a favorite in most orchestras and bands. Learning the sax would require total dedication to it. There’s no easy way to learn it but by regular lessons and constant practice. If you are just beginning your sax lessons, here are a few tips to help you.
There are three levels of Singapore Saxophone lessons: beginner, intermediate, and advanced. Since you’re new, you would naturally be placed in beginner lessons. That’s where you will be taught the basics. The lessons will teach you the parts of the instrument as well as their uses. This will be of great help to you in understanding the instrument. Also, you’ll learn of the proper positioning and fingering system of this. Depending on which lesson you’ll use, this level is where you’ll learn how to read notes so you can play on your own.
As a beginner, the sax that would be recommended is either alto or tenor. These two saxophones are the easiest to learn. In time, you have the choice to play the harder type of sax, soprano. You will notice how the three are different as you progress through the lessons.
You should always ponder and review the things that you learn from your sax teacher. Number one on your list should be proper breathing. Controlling your breathing well will allow you to play longer and better. Body posture is another essential part of playing. Air circulation will not be as optimized if you do not have the right body posture. These beginner saxophone lessons will be taught early on, but sometimes, people tend to forget them.
As a beginner, you might be dreaming of seeing yourself playing like a world class sax player. It’s not bad to hope for this to happen. But try to stay realistic. To master the sax is never easy. If you want to be a professional or world-class, it would take many years. If you know someone who plays, ask them. They can tell you that practicing everyday and paying attention to every detail of the song are needed to enhance your skills.
Hopefully, this wouldn’t discourage you from starting a beginner saxophone lesson. It should, on the other hand, make you more challenged to learn. Mastering the sax is a truly great achievement that not many are able to do. If you have the resources, take the opportunity to learn. There’s no age limit for these kinds of things, but the earlier you study, the better. Without a doubt, sax lessons are worth giving your time and effort to.
